Can't look back...
Hey guyss.
First off, I'm not leaving because I'm bored.

I'm honestly worried that I'll wake up one day and realize I've spent wayy too much of my life on Polyvore. I want to DO stuff - learn Italian, improve my dancing, live a little, flirt with random guys...x). I want to accomplish more than 40 faves on my latest set.
Polyvore has been incredibly fun, and I don't want people to think I'm leaving because there's drama or whatever.
I'm going by my own choice, because my life needs some work. I'm going to become someone. It's gonna be great ;)

Love you guys...
- the besties that i've known forever
- the friends i met via RP's
- everyone that faved/commented

MODS:
I'm quitting PANY and TWPC. They're AWESOME RP's! But Petra Elysse Klein and Layla Nicole Andrasevits may have to be played by someone else.

Byee:)
- Mikaela.

Layla toyed with a twisted curl of her hair as she worked on the outline of her sketch for the Perrett wedding. She had some fabulous ideas for it, but she was waiting for her turn to present.

Maybe sat beside her, sipping on her caramel macchiato. Gahd, she wished she had some more coffee left. It was wayy early, but Layla knew she had to get used to it.

Suddenly Layla felt her phone buzzing in her tote against her foot. She leaned down and pressed ignore. The caller buzzed again. Again, she ignored. When this happened a third time, Layla grabbed her phone and excused herself.

"Hello?"

"Layla! How's my little sis?"

"She's kind of in a very important meeting right now, Carter," Layla said to her older brother, a successful Harvard law student. "What is it?"

"Just checking up on you. I thought I should let you know to watch out. Mom's on the rampage again and she's asking for money. I have caller ID and I'm screening her calls through my secretary, but I know you don't check things like that."

"Don't call me a pushover again, Delaney," she said. "I can handle my own mother."

"She wants four grande and the car," he warned her. "I just want you to be prepared."

Layla touched up her makeup in the bathroom mirror. "Thanks, Del, I'll remember that, I really will, but I really need to go right now. Bye."

She clicked her phone shut and stopped before opening the door to the conference room. She'd have to deal with her nagging, whining, pushy mother soon, and she just wasn't ready for that.

07.02 | Kisses & Vespas | PANY
(SET: made by a friend. i'm using it to write a PANY story:))

Petra held her camera up to the Statue of Liberty and snapped a picture. She'd been to New York before, but her mother wanted pictures to document. Mrs. Klein, who was constantly picking up new hobbies and stopping halfway through, was currently into scrapbooking. At the moment she was working on "First Years at PANY" and "God's Glorious Nature." Kooky much?

"Hey, Laynie, stand over there. No, to the left. Yeah. Okay, now smile."

Laynie rolled her eyes and never lifted her gaze from her Sidekick screen, on which she was texting furiously.

Petra gasped. "OH my Gahd, Versace sample sale!" she yelled. Half the crowd of glossy PANY heads swiveled in her direction, but it got Laynie to look up too.

*snap*

"Perfect," Petra said smugly, walking through the crowds as the girls still strained to find the sample sale sign in one of the store windows. Ugh. This was agony. Being out in the city, passing Barney's on the way to the Statue, the tourguide droning on and on...

"Hey! Starbucks girl!" a voice from behind the group said. Again, half the girls turned, and again, groaned when they realized the call wasn't for them. Petra watched a red-and-silver Vespa zip up to her and stop. The rider removed a black helmet and ran a finger through dark curls.

"I thought I saw you," Green-Eyed Mystery Starbucks Boy! Petra smiled sweetly. Yumm. This was her saving grace. She sent a silent "Thank you" up to Gahd.

"What are you doing here on a school day?" the boy asked.

Petra smiled coyly. "I could ask you the same thing. We're down here on a school 'field trip,'" she explained, putting exaggerated finger-quotes around the words 'field trip.' "It's purely educational, of course - no stops to Pinkberry or Bendels here, no sir," she continued sarcastically.

"Well, hey, wanna go for a ride?" the guy looked over at Petra's tourguide who was feeding the group of girls the same lines he fed to every group. None of the girls were paying attention - they were all preening and glossing up and whinily wondering why this hawt, tanned Vespa rider wasn't talking to /them/. "It doesn't look like they'll miss you much here."

Petra laughed. "They'll miss you, though," she said, and looked into his eyes. They were deep, not petty and glazed with lust. They had intelligence. And something else...a childlike hope.

She took the helmet from him and strapped it on his head. Then, on a whim, she daringly traced her thumb down his cheek and kissed his lips. And she was right. His lips /did/ fit perfectly with hers. It wasn't a long kiss, but he got the message.

"I'd love a ride."

"Lemon yellow. Yes, it has to be lemon. I don't know, the bride has some fetish for lemons...her name is Alivia Lemon Daniachter, so I guess that's why. Well, whatever, just make sure you pick up /lemon/ yellow napkins and NOT the canary."

Layla flipped her phone shut and leaned down to shove it in the YSL tote by her feet. She straightened up just as the caterers were bringing in the first course of brunch.

The slim, pretty brunette to Layla's left looked at her sympathetically. "This business kind of follows you everywhere, doesn't it?"

Layla looked up from the napkin she was smoothing over the skirt of her Alice + Olivia fan dress. "Oh, yeah," she said. "Brides-to-be have no sense of timing whatsoever."

The model-looking girl laughed and extended her hand. "I'm Alexandria Vavara," she said, introducing herself with a perfect smile. "I'm an extra. Which department are you?"

"Layla Andrasevits. I'm a designer," she said. "Gahd, I love your shoes!" she exclaimed. "Where'd you get them?"

"Oh, I have friends in fashion. I used to be a model, back in Russia and a little bit here. You could say I have connections. These aren't even out yet."

Layla smiled enviously. "Lucky girl! My mother wanted me to go into modeling - she was a former MAC girl - but I just like the wedding business a lot more."

Alexandria blinked. "Wait, Layla Andrasevits?" she exclaimed. "You're the girl who did the beading on Taylor Swift's amazingg dress last year, aren't you!"

Layla shrugged. "It's a hobby."

Alexandria bounced in her chair. "Ohh! I'd LOVE it if you could bead these new Tory Burch shoes I got. They're pretty but they need something extra, you know? I'd buy you Starbucks," she teased.

"Mmm, tempting," agreed Layla with a grin. "Sure, I'll do them - free of charge."

"Great!"

Layla turned to the first course, a fat-free yogurt-and-strawberries parfait and picked at it, talking to Alexandria as she ate. But with every course it seemed - to some observers around the table - that she left a lot on her plate when the servers took it away. First day on the job, and already rumors were starting to fly.

Hey, that's half the fun, right?
